Chris was pretty damn excited; he had pondered for several long weeks over precisely what he and Dray could do to celebrate their anniversary. He could hardly believe it had been two years. Granted, he'd gone away for quite a bit of that time, but Dray hadn't given up on him; like so many others in his past had. When he'd returned Dray was there, ready to give him goals to work towards; help him get better, and welcomed him back with open arms. He was certain he couldn't repay the man for everything he'd done for him; but he'd be damned if he didn't at least try. And so he had spent weeks planning, making certain everything was in place. Having delved slightly into the small bit of money he'd set aside for himself; he purchased two round trip plane tickets. He supposed that was a bit of a waste, since they could have just used teleports; but why waste valuable stock when flying was a viable option? Besides, he'd made certain they were first class tickets and that they would be flying all at night. He knew Dray's love of drinking and partying; and he was hoping the island he'd booked them tickets to would hold up to their reputation for all the best clubs, plus he'd secured though a bit of use of charisma and some quiet manipulation and a teensy bit of blackmail a special area of the island for hunting. He wasn't sure he'd ever seen his sire hunt; but he knew everyone needed to feed; and he personally got a thrill out of the chase; it was one of the few times he wasn't so quiet or reserved.
He'd let Dray know what time their flight was leaving; and had spent the entire evening prior pacing about his rooms unable to sleep. Too much excitement was coursing through his veins. He'd also made certain to shoot a text to Maura, asking if when he and Dray returned home he could come over to start the carving of her tree like she'd asked. She'd said to just let her know. He'd smiled then; he wasn't sure what to make of the woman just yet. She made him nervous, but she was also really easy to get along with. He hoped they would become good friends over time.
Leery of driving himself; he'd arranged for a cab to meet him at the Manor, and had arrived at the terminal way ahead of schedule. He made it through security no problem; though it felt strange to him to have left his carving tools back at home. He'd found a spot at the bar in the terminal when he saw Dray arrive. He grinned and moved to meet him; embracing him in a tight hug before he bought the man a drink and then it was time to board.
The flight passed fairly uneventful, save for some minor turbulence. Chris had made sure he'd paid for the entire resort to be a "Private Event" so there wouldn't be any other patrons to bother the two of them except for the staff. When they disembarked from the flight and claimed their baggage, a driver was waiting to take them to the resort. Chris chatted away to Dray about how excited he was, and all the clubs he had planned for them to arrive. He snickered softly as he said "I can't promise you will remember much of this anniversary trip; but hey... that's half the fun!"
When they arrived to the Resort, Chris showed Dray to his room . He'd also made certain to have an additional area made where Dray could be out during the daylight; a small sitting room where the glass was made to filter out the harmful rays of sunshine, and an enclosed bedroom and personal bar so if he wanted to chill during the day he could. Chris' room was a short ways away, down another pier like boardwalk. He wanted the two of them to be able to have alone time if needed, but also be close enough they could hang out too. He looked around and smiled sheepishly "I hope you will have fun! And enjoy your room!"
